text: Book of Proverbs (Mishle 3:13, 15-16, 8:11-22, 9:1)

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who derives discernment. [Wisdom] is more precious than pearls; all that you desire cannot equal her in value. In her right hand is length of days, in her left hand riches and honour”.

“For wisdom is better than pearls; all desires cannot equal her in value. I, Wisdom, dwell with acumen. I provide knowledge and prudence. The fear of God is to hate evil. Pride, arrogance, the evil way, and a mouth that speaks duplicity – I hate them. Counsel and everlasting wisdom are mine. I am Understanding. Strength is mine. Through me kings reign and rulers decree just laws. Through me ministers govern, nobles and all righteous judges. I love those who love me. Those who seek me will find me. Riches and honour are with me, a fabulous treasure and everything a person could need. My fruit is better than gold, and my produce [better] than choice silver. I walk in the path of righteousness, in the pathways of justice. I will bequeath to those who love me [a gift of] real substance. I will fill their storehouses. God took possession of me at the beginning of His way, before His works of long ago. Wisdom has built her house, hewn her seven pillars”.
